Agency Description:
The Oakland Landscape Committee is a community based landscape committee in Oakland that works on school gardens, public gardens, park maintenance, vegetation management, and emergency preparedness education. We assisted the City of Oakland in developing the Gateway Garden and the Gateway Emergency Preparedness Exhibit Center, which is a City park site. We are currently working on a creek restoration project and new public garden at the North Oakland Sports Field. We are leading efforts in the Highway 24 corridor to help in removal of invasive and flammable vegetation that poses fire risks, and to help in native plant restoration efforts that will reduce fire risks.

Project Description:
Volunteers will help in weeding and pruning and watering in the garden. Depending on the number of volunteers, we might also spread tree chips in the garden. Volunteers should wear casual attire.

Basic gardening, casual clothes.
