Orangewood Children??s Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1981 and one of the leading providers of services to children in foster care. Through financial assistance, mentors, daily living skills workshops, transitional housing and college scholarships, we give these innocent victims of child abuse a second chance at happy, productive lives. Last year alone Orangewood scholarships helped 322 former foster children attend colleges and universities throughout the United States. In our 29 year history we have helped over 74,000 kids find their wings and soar. Beyond our programs, for thousands of foster children Orangewood means ??family,? ??opportunity? and ??hope.?

Project Description:
Nothing brings people together better than food! Orangewood Children??s Foundation will be holding a life skills workshop for teens currently living in foster care. These workshops are held weekly and provide an opportunity for these youth to gain vital information on how to live independently when they emancipate from the system on their 18th birthday. Example topics include job searching, budgeting, relationship building, and more. We are in need of volunteers to a make and serve a meal for approximately 60 youth. The Foundation does have a small kitchen with two ovens and two stove tops, and a limited supply of pots and pans. Options include: ? Collecting donations to purchase supplies needed for a Mexican buffet (tacos, nachos, rice, beans). ? Holding a pot luck where people cook the items at home and bring them to the Foundation to serve.

Special Skills or Tools Required:
1. Ingredients for making the food. 2. Beverages, if possible. 3. Tools for cooking the food such as pots and pans.

Ingredients and food for the dinner. Service items (plates, forks, cups, and etc...) will be provided by the Foundation.
