Agency Description:
Covenant House New Jersey has been providing services to homeless and at-risk youth since 1989. The Covenant House mission calls on us to serve suffering children of the street with absolute respect and unconditional love. Our programs, located in Atlantic City, Newark, Montclair and Elizabeth offer a continuum of care and services to youth 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. CHNJ responds to their immediate and basic needs by providing food, shelter, vocational classes, education services, clothing, legal services, counseling and case management services. The agency's purpose is to assist these young people in developing short-term and long-term goals by offering them opportunities so that they may become independent and productive members of their community.

Project Description:
Teach classes to homeless youth on "Careers in the Insurance Industry? at the shelter in Newark, New Jersey. Volunteers can provide instruction on the credentials and skills required to gain entry-level positions in Industry.

Special Skills or Tools Required:
We expect that volunteers will be able to communicate effectively and will be prepared to share their backgrounds and job experience in the industry. Experience in corporate training, management or human resources is helpful but not required.
