Agency Description:
Covenant House New Jersey has been providing services to homeless and at-risk youth since 1989. The Covenant House mission calls on us to serve suffering children of the street with absolute respect and unconditional love. Our programs, located in Atlantic City, Newark, Montclair and Elizabeth offer a continuum of care and services to youth 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. CHNJ responds to their immediate and basic needs by providing food, shelter, vocational classes, education services, clothing, legal services, counseling and case management services. The agency's purpose is to assist these young people in developing short-term and long-term goals by offering them opportunities so that they may become independent and productive members of their community.

Project Description:
Paint the community area in our Rites of Passage (ROP) Transitional Housing Program. Rights of Passage (ROP) is a 14 bed program located in the North Ward of Newark designed to provide a safe and supportive living environment for homeless youth that will allow them to successfully transition to independent adult living. The program provides a variety of services, which are designed to improve independent living and decision-making skills.

Ability to use a paintbrush.
