Agency Description:
Covenant House New Jersey has been providing services to homeless and at-risk youth since 1989. The Covenant House mission calls on us to serve suffering children of the street with absolute respect and unconditional love. Our programs, located in Atlantic City, Newark, Montclair and Elizabeth offer a continuum of care and services to youth 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. CHNJ responds to their immediate and basic needs by providing food, shelter, vocational classes, education services, clothing, legal services, counseling and case management services. The agency's purpose is to assist these young people in developing short-term and long-term goals by offering them opportunities so that they may become independent and productive members of their community.

Project Description:
The Covenant House Vocational Training Center provides homeless youth with employment training and job readiness skills. Volunteers are needed to assist with resume writing, preparation of cover letters and thank you letters. Volunteers will also provide tips on interviewing skills, job retention strategies and career planning.

Special Skills or Tools Required:
A background in Human Resources, Management or Information Technology would be helpful but is not required.
