Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger is a food pantry and social service located in the heart of Brooklyn. Our mission is to end hunger by distributing food and empowering families through information and support. We accomplish this by serving over 10,000 clients per month, and host an array of social services, including on-site food stamp enrollment, Medicaid and health insurance enrollment, housing assistance, and employment counseling.

Project Description:
The project involves getting our pantry ready to open to the public at 1:00 pm. Duties include stocking shelves, staging products, and getting the pantry orderly by 1:00. We also expect at least 1 delivery, so some participants will be unloading trucks and organizing boxes in our storeroom area. We will focus particularly on cleaning, making sure the pantry is especially bright and presentable. The project requires good team work and a strong work ethic.

Special Skills or Tools Required:
At least a few of the participants must be able to lift heavy boxes and help unload a delivery truck.

Supplies Needed:
Minimum Required Donation:
We are requesting that a group purchase some cleaning supplies, including Bleach, Lysol, Pine Sol, Fabuloso, and paper towels. However, this donation is not required.
